Caioba Beach has 3km of white sandy beach, stunning mountain views and the national cocktail, Caipirinha for sale everywhere you turn. The perfect location for volleyball and body surfing, lounging and eating, what a place to spend a lazy Saturday.
Locals call Matinhos ‘The Girlfriend of Paraná’ as it was emancipated or legally formed on June 12 – Valentines Day in Brazil. (Faye has already laid claim to 2 Valentines gifts this year!)
As we packed up the sky changed and the thunder and lightning moved in off the mountain, we holed up in the Canoe Quebrado (Broken Canoe) restaurant for some food and a few sundowners to end a cracking day. We fully intend to make this a weekend habit!
